Pine class have started the autumn term by learning about dinosaurs. We have written dinosaur poems and fact files about our favourite dinosaurs. In history lessons we have learnt about how dinosaurs might have become extinct. In art lessons we have looked at cave paintings and had a go at using mud to paint pictures. In forest school we have used a range of outside materials to make dinosaur collages. read more
In Maths we have looked at place value of numbers and now exploring mental strategies for addition and subtraction. In English the children looked at the story ‘Journey’ where they were able to write an engaging story using vocabulary effectively. We also looked at ‘Arthur and the Golden Rope’ where we looked at using conjunctions and verbs for effect. They planned and wrote their own short narrative using skills learnt over the two weeks. Our school council have been planning and developing an outdoor reflection area as our indoor one is currently out of use. We hope it will provide a beautiful and relaxing space for our children's wellbeing. In these pictures, they are adding sensory plants - rosemary, lavender, mint, Mexican orange blossom. read more
