Oak Class April News 2022

In Maths we have looked at symmetry and revision of long and short division. Some children have explored using algebra.
In English the children looked at the book ‘The Lost Spells’ which include poems. The children have inferred a variety of poems and written an acrostic poem on a chosen animal and free verse poem about themselves.
In Science for our unit ‘Animal and Human Life Processes’ the children have labelled the digestive system and explained the functions.
In History our new unit is ‘World War II’ and the children begun to explore early events in the war and order these on a timeline.
The children took part in K’nex challenge for DT where they had to build a strong bridge that could move. They explored different types of bridges before planning and constructing their bridge. They were then able to add any extra features to earn extra points. Well done Lucy and Eadie for 1st place and to all the children working collaboratively in their groups.
