Long Term Curriculum Intent Statements

Our Curriculum
Our vision ‘A community learning together in God’s love’ with core values of Curiosity, Courage, Compassion underpins our curriculum.

Our curriculum is designed to support our aims to help each child to:

Curiosity: Be interested to develop a love and independence for learning and be ready to try new things.

Courage: Be brave enough to make mistakes, have a go at challenges and try again.

Compassion: Be kind showing respect and care to all.

Our Teaching and Learning policy sets out our philosophy and approach in more detail.

Teaching and Learning Policy

Below, you will find our Curriculum Intent Statements. These set out an overview of what will be taught, the sequencing of the curriculum and key objectives to achieve by the end of each year group and end point (EYFS, KS1, KS2).
Teachers use ‘knowledge organisers’ in Years 1-6 to set out knowledge and skills that will be taught. A summary of these are shared with parents through termly curriculum newsletters. These can be found on our website under Curriculum/Class Curriculum Newsletters.

If parents or members of the public wish to find out any further information about our curriculum, please contact our school office (01920 462894 or admin@tonwell.herts.sch.uk).
