This month Ash class have started their new topic ‘Ticket to Ride’. We have been thinking about our homes, where we live and where our school is. The children enjoyed a walk around Tonwell, where they used iPads to take pictures of some ‘landmarks’ and then created their own map of Tonwell village. This month Ash class have finished their topic ‘Celebrations’! They enjoyed learning all about Hanukkah, where we made and ate our own potato latkes. Later in the month we began our learning about Christmas! We put up a Christmas tree in our classroom, made our own Christmas cards and went on a walk all around Tonwell to hang our beautiful Chrsitmas pictures! This month, Pine class have written stories using ideas from the book ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’. We remembered to include a beginning, middle and end to our stories. In Maths we worked on recognising and describing 2D and 3D shapes. We persevered to make 3D shapes using nets. In science lessons we completed work on the topic of ‘Materials’.
