Ware Wombles
KS2 started their swimming lessons at Ware Lido this week. Despite the rain and chilly weather, they all tried their best and started to improve their swimming strokes and learn about water safety.
After the lesson, we has the pleasure of meeting with Andy from the Ware Wombles. Andy gave us a talk about how him and his wife set up this voluntary group in lockdown and have grown from just two people to having over 1500 volunteers! Andy explained how to keep safe whilst litter picking and gave us some tips on how to sort the rubbish so more recycling can be done. Groups of children then worked together as litter 'spotters' and litter 'pickers' to help clear up the two parks in the town centre. Well done children!
